4:12 PM A U.S. federal judge has thrown out an Apple (AAPL +1.4%) suit against Motorola Mobility (GOOG -0.7%) with prejudice. Apple had been suing over Motorola's alleged abuse of standards-essential patents in licensing talks. The judge apparently wasn't amused with Apple's offer last week to pay a royalty of less than $1 per iPhone unit for the patents. Microsoft is also suing Motorola for misusing standards-essential patents, and the FTC is reportedly thinking of suing Google over the matter. (Read the comments on this)
