10:48 AM Larry Page met with FTC officials yesterday in an effort to settle the agency's long-running antitrust probe of Google (GOOG), a source tells Bloomberg. Google has reportedly been talking with the FTC for a week about a settlement, and wants to make sure any deal isn't bound by a consent decree. A report last week suggested the FTC is starting to doubt it can win a case related to its most serious concern: that Google is using its search dominance to unfairly promote other services.
