Another year has passed. It was full of changes and new developments on Wikimapia. Lets look back to the fabuolous 2012 and see what's new it has brought to the project.
• Now you can connect your Wikimapia account with Facebook page. Save your time, let your friends know about the contributions you have added and learn interesting trivia about almost every place in the world! • The mobile version of Wikimapia works for three months already and a lot of Wikimapians are using it every day. Go to wikimapia.org on your phone and browse through Wikimapia data from the map or use geolocation feature to orientate yourself and see all places around you.
• Now you can see the description not only for place tags, but also roads! Interecative roads tool made information search easier and encreased the amount of valuable data on Wikimapia map.
• The collaboration tool was upgrated It is more simple and convinient now and you can invite all of your friends to a collaboration with couple of clicks.
• The category system has been improved. Now with hierarchy, synonyms and multi-language support it became a lot more detailed and helpfull.
• The Official Wikimapia Documentation has been released! Here you can find everything you need to know about Wikimapia community, tools and policies. The Docs are under translation now, and thanks to our Documentors it is available on 9 different languages already. • We started to keep Wikimapia Blog aimed to encourage our contributors and share most amusing places and latest news on Wikimapia with you.
