2:20 PM Some seasoned Amazon (AMZN +2.8%) watchers think third-party sellers on the site sell more by dollars than the company does itself. While CFO Tom Szkutal would only say on the firm's Q4 conference call (transcript) that third-party sellers increased their percentage of total units sold to 39% from 36% (Y/Y) last quarter, ChannelAdvisor is quick to note the company tend to sell low-ticket items while third-party sellers have a higher average ticket price.
