Yes, I said it. Apple (AAPL) does not have $137 billion in cash. AAPL has $137 billion in assets, not cash. Every article that mentions "Apple's $137 Billion Cash Hoard" is wrong. AAPL's balance sheet for its most recent quarter can be found here. Let's look at the three categories that assets are placed into and dissect them. I will draw parallels to personal finance.
