Quad Learning Raises $11M to Make College Affordable

MOOCs are revolutionary and all, but free online courses for thousands of people at a time still seems like a crazy experiment. Another edtech startup, called Quad Learning, is taking an approach that plays more within conventional systems, by offering community college courses online and then helping participating students transfer to top schools for their degrees. It has raised $11 million from investors including New Atlantic Ventures and NEA. read more »

The move is a homecoming of sorts for a group of writers from Engadget, also owned by AOL, that had left the company to form Gdgt.
