AOL: Cowen starts coverage on AOL (AOL +1.6%) with...

11:33 AM Cowen starts coverage on AOL (AOL +1.6%) with an Outperform, leading the one-time Web giant to do just that ahead of its Wednesday Q1 report. Last week, AOL unveiled 15 original shows, a creative studio for branded videos, and a deal to include its video ad inventory on 3rd-party platforms, as it pitches itself to top video advertisers during upfront season. The original shows aren't big-budget productions like Netflix's House of Cards, but rather non-fiction/documentary-type content from "well-known celebrities as well as influencers on the rise."
