GOOG: Is Google Fiber (GOOG) coming to Austin?...

5:17 PM Is Google Fiber (GOOG) coming to Austin? Google and the City of Austin have sent out invites for a 12PM ET Tuesday event regarding "a very important announcement that will have a positive impact on Austinites." Sources tell VentureBeat the event could be about Fiber, but the site hedges by saying it could also be about a a Google campus or some other kind of partnership. Eric Schmidt has stated Google is looking to expand Fiber beyond its initial market of Kansas City; if one counts the city of Olathe, KS (25 miles from K.C.), Google has already begun. Read comments
