AOL: "Well, we all just got laid off. AOL Music is...

4:24 PM "Well, we all just got laid off. AOL Music is finished," tweets Dan Reilly, (until now) the editor of AOL-owned music site Spinner. AOL has since confirmed it has shut down its Music unit, as new online media chief Susan Lyne makes good on her promise to take a hard look at underperforming AOL Web properties. AOL's online media unit generated OIBDA of just $8.8M in Q4; by contrast, the declining/cash cow ISP unit generated $158.7M. Q1 results arrive on May 8. Read comments
