Word on the street is that Google (GOOG) is in talks with major music labels Universal Music Group and Warner Music to develop its own Spotify-like music streaming business. That is great news for the music labels and other content owners: competition from various distribution providers (Spotify, Rdio) will allow the content owners additional bargaining power when negotiating license deals. read more »
