MSFT: Microsoft's Surface Pro: Revolutionary?
Microsoft's Surface Pro: Revolutionary?
by Ashraf Eassa
When the Surface Pro first came out, I made a point to go to my local Microsoft (MSFT) store to try one out. While I wasn't able to gauge battery life, I found the device rather pleasant to use. It's fast, supports all of my familiar Windows 8 applications, has a nifty pen, and the screen is gorgeous. It's a solid device, and I can see these types of high performance convertible tablets becoming the productivity and consumption device of the future. If consumers could get Surface Pro-like performance but with more traditonal slimmer tablet-like form factors and improved battery life, then I know I would be more than willing to go and buy one. read more »

AAPL: Apple's Nearly Single Digit P/E Seems Underserved
Apple's Nearly Single Digit P/E Seems Underserved
by Eric Bader
I present you with this question: Does Apple (AAPL) deserve to carry a single digit P/E? At its current price, Apple is trading at 10.09x TTM earnings and about 9x forward earnings. At its TTM multiple, Apple is trading at a 79.1% discount to the market ... yes, a 79.1% discount. So, I repeat does Apple deserve a single digit P/E? In its current state, it certainly looks like the market thinks so (a 1.0% drop in price will amount to a P/E of 9.99x assuming a share price of $445). Do we truly believe that Apple has no growth prospects (see Apple: Zero Growth … Really!)? read more »

AAPL: BlackBerry Vs. Apple: Which Is A Winning Bet For 2013?
BlackBerry Vs. Apple: Which Is A Winning Bet For 2013?
by Timing Best Buy
Introduction
In an earlier article we discussed Apple (AAPL), Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ), BlackBerry (BBRY), and Google (GOOG). Looking at the market fundamentals and base expectations on future investments of these companies, we concluded that Apple was the best bet. However, some investors commented the article strongly believed that BlackBerry would be an absolute winner in the Apple vs. BlackBerry war. In this article, I would like to make a fair suggestion on this point and compare Apple and BlackBerry to pick a winner in the Apple vs. BlackBerry war. Will Apple regain its lost glory? read more »
