After a long denial about involvement into Mumbai Terror attack, Pakistani former PM Nawaz Sharif has shown some sense of accountability. Nawaz Sharif has accepted that the Mumbai attacker hailed from Pakistan's Punjab province. He also mentioned that the suspect's village was cordoned off and his parents were not allowed to meet anyone.
"I have checked myself. His (Ajmal Amir Iman alias Ajmal Kasab) house and village has been cordoned off by the security agencies. His parents are not allowed to meet anybody. I don't understand why it has been done," Sharif, who hails from Punjab, said in an interview to Geo News channel.
"The people and media should be allowed to meet Iman's parents so that the truth could come out in the open," he said, adding that "We need some kind of introspection."
Finally some sign of co-operation from Pakistan.
Sharif is telling the truth whereas Zardar is obfuscating and retracting from his ealier statement under pressure from the army and the ISI. The army and the ISI were the sponsors of 26/11 and they cannot afford to admit to their extra state misadventure sputtered. Denial is built in any covert activity. The two together run a state within a state and because they have the gun and the money it is their writ that prevails in Pakistan. Sharif is right that " Pakistan presents a picture of a failed and ungovernable state." The world has to unite that this rogue state doesn't become a headache for the peace loving world.
ReplyDeleteI think there is absolutely no need to take Sharif's comments seriously just as I think about some remarks made by AR Antuley a few days ago. This is purely an attempt at political one-upmanship.
ReplyDeleteWe can no longer afford to take a Pakistani seriously. IT'S TIME FOR A DECISIVE ACTION.
