Into 2013, his fund's largest holdings show a decided tilt towards financials - with BRK.B, AIG, C, and GS making the top 5. He's also an investor in Kyle Bass' fund making a big bet on a weaker yen and higher Japanese interest rates. Read comments

2:49 PM Money for nothing. IBM plans a sale of $2B in floating-rate debt, with the 2-year paper maybe priced at Libor minus 2 basis points. The 5-year notes look to yield 47 bps more than 5-year Treasurys. Coca-Cola and P&G both issued debt paying less than the benchmark rate last year. Read comments

MSFT: Some Microsoft (MSFT +0.5%) news: 1) Ted...

2:39 PM Some Microsoft (MSFT +0.5%) news: 1) Ted Kummert, head of Microsoft's growing Data Platform unit (includes SQL Server and Microsoft's business intelligence/analytics software), is leaving to become a VC. 2) Huawei is teaming with Microsoft to offer a cheap Qualcomm-powered (QCOM) Windows Phone meant for Africa. Offering cheaper Windows Phones is critical to challenging Android's emerging markets dominance - Nokia's (NOK) Lumia 510, perhaps the cheapest WP model currently available, goes for ~$200 unsubsidized. Apple: New Analysis Offers Reasons For A Rally

2:20 PM Some seasoned Amazon (AMZN +2.8%) watchers think third-party sellers on the site sell more by dollars than the company does itself. While CFO Tom Szkutal would only say on the firm's Q4 conference call (transcript) that third-party sellers increased their percentage of total units sold to 39% from 36% (Y/Y) last quarter, ChannelAdvisor is quick to note the company tend to sell low-ticket items while third-party sellers have a higher average ticket price.
