3:56 PM Provo, UT (pop. 113K) is set to be the third city to get Google Fiber, Google (GOOG) and Provo's mayor announce. To enable the deployment, Google has agreed to buy local fiber network iProvo from the city (pending a council vote), and (as part of the deal) is promising to give Provo residents 5Mbps access for free for 7 years (save for a $30 activation charge), and free 1Gbps access to 25 public institutions. The news comes 8 days after Google's Austin Fiber announcement. Read comments
