Mike thought my choice of Johnny Depp was too young and instead suggested Tommy Lee Jones. I think Tommy's great, but maybe too dour for the role (Did you see him at the Golden Globes?) Paul suggested Crispin Glover or "the 'L.A. Slimeball' in Scrooged" (FYI Paul, that would be "Bryce Cummings" played by the versatile John Glover). Robert voted for Jim Carrey, while Patty nominated the iconic Christopher Walken. 'JNeilKuhn' meanwhile offered up five strong contenders: Bill Murray, Sean Penn, Richard Gere, Kiefer Sutherland and Steve Buscemi. All great choices, guys! In other news...remember on "Mission Impossible" how IMF agent Jim Phelps would get his assignment, which would always self-destruct a few seconds later? A couple of software vendors now offer products that allow you to send encrypted messages (containing documents, pictures, audio, etc.) that will destroy themselves after a certain period of time. While the idea might be appealing to some companies who want to share sensitive data with others for only a limited time, there are growing concerns that this type of tech could also be used for nefarious reasons: Unscrupulous employees who take the data, pass it along for a couple of bucks, could conceivably see their virtual paper trail vanish.
