3:24 PM AuthenTec, which is in the process of being acquired by Apple (AAPL) for $356M, has agreed to sell its embedded security business (processors, software, and IP) to private Inside Secure for $48M. Since AuthenTec's NFC solutions weren't part of the deal, some are speculating the sale is evidence Apple will support NFC in future iHardware, in spite of Phil Schiller's critique of the technology. But AuthenTec's fingerprint sensor tech, the subject of an IP agreement with Apple, also wasn't included. (Read the comments on this)
